The words we use, and exactly what we mean by them.

Every term below is one Valenza.io uses in its own product and its own reporting. Definitions are literal on purpose: a definition you cannot check is a claim wearing a dictionary’s clothes.

Lead loss

Lead loss is what happens when an enquiry a business has already received never reaches the conversation it was supposed to reach — because nobody answered it in time, nobody qualified it, nobody followed up, or nobody recorded it at all.

It is distinct from a lost sale. A lost sale had a conversation and lost it. A lost lead never got the conversation. The cost is the same money either way, which is why lead loss is usually invisible in a business's own reporting: there is no record of the thing that did not happen.

Lead loss prevention

Lead loss prevention is the practice of building the capture, response, qualification and follow-up infrastructure that stops enquiries from being lost before they are worked, rather than buying more enquiries to replace the ones that were.

In Valenza.io's usage it is a structural discipline, not a campaign: every channel an enquiry can arrive on is consolidated into one pipeline, every enquiry is answered within seconds, every enquiry is qualified against criteria the business defines, and every enquiry that goes quiet is followed up on a fixed cadence until it books or declines.

Lead recovery

Lead recovery is the work of re-engaging enquiries a business already received and did not convert — the unanswered, the unqualified, the un-followed-up and the dormant — and moving them back into a live conversation.

Lead generation acquires new enquiries. Lead recovery converts enquiries that were already paid for. The two are not substitutes: recovery has no acquisition cost, works on a known audience that has already raised its hand, and is usually the cheapest revenue available to a business that advertises.

Revenue recovery

Revenue recovery is the measured value of business won from enquiries that would otherwise have been lost — recovered leads carried through to booked, attended and closed outcomes and counted in money.

It is the outcome that lead recovery exists to produce, and it is stated as arithmetic rather than as a claim: enquiries received, enquiries answered, enquiries qualified, appointments booked, appointments attended, and the value of what closed. Where a business cannot supply a closed-won value, Valenza.io reports the pipeline stages it can observe and says so.

Lead intelligence

Lead intelligence is the structured record of what actually happened to every enquiry — where it came from, how fast it was answered, how it qualified, what was said, what stage it reached and where it stopped — used to find where the pipeline loses money.

Most businesses can report what they spent and what they closed, and nothing in between. Lead intelligence is that middle: the per-enquiry facts that turn 'our conversion is poor' into 'forty-one per cent of enquiries arriving after 7pm were never answered'.

Lead leakage

Lead leakage is the ongoing, structural rate at which enquiries fall out of a pipeline between arriving and being worked — the steady-state version of lead loss.

Leakage is measured per stage rather than in total, because the fix differs by stage: enquiries lost at capture need routing, enquiries lost at response need speed, enquiries lost after a first reply need follow-up cadence.

Speed to lead

Speed to lead is the elapsed time between an enquiry arriving and a real reply reaching the person who sent it.

It is measured from the enquiry's own timestamp, not from the start of the next business day — a Saturday 9:42pm enquiry answered on Monday morning has a speed to lead of thirty-four hours, not ten minutes. It is the single most reported number in Valenza.io's weekly report because it is the one that moves first.

Lead Recovery OS

Lead Recovery OS is Valenza.io's operating system for lead recovery: the workspace where a client's enquiries, conversations, qualification, appointments and pipeline reporting are consolidated and operated.

It is the client-facing surface of the systems Valenza.io builds and runs. It is not sold as self-service software a business installs and learns; it is deployed, connected to the channels a business already uses, and operated as part of the engagement.
